Evaluation of the impact of the Taunton PSEL programme
Ruth Thomsen, Scientific Director, NHSE (London Region) draws to your attention the Practical Skills in Education Training and Leadership Programme (PSEL) which has started to address leadership development for mid-career Healthcare Scientists (HCS) in three regions – London, West Midlands and Southwest. The latest evaluation of this programme demonstrates the value to the system of investing in leadership development for HCS.
Previous Participants who have attended this programme have delivered improvement projects, presented posters and talks at CSO conference and talks and been awarded prestigious leadership fellowships such as WISE and Darzi.
Engagement of this workforce and developing leadership for diagnostics would enable a systems approach to deliver the transformational change required for patient pathway.
