The document setting out how Higher Specialist Scientist Training will operate for Healthcare Science – ‘Scaling the Heights’ – has been published by Health Education England
Scaling the Heights: an overview of Higher Specialist Science Training () in Healthcare Science sets out the policy for the Higher Specialist Scientist Training ( ) programme, demonstrating how will deliver the Consultant Clinical Scientists required by health and care services. This includes the role of the Academy of Healthcare Science in providing:
- Certificates of Attainment for individuals completing
- Operating the Register for Consultant Clinical Scientists
- Recognising prior education, training and experience through the Equivalence process
Scaling the Heights sets out all the elementsincluding: the underpinning academic doctoral programme; the development of curricula with scientists, professional bodies and medical royal colleges and the roles of the National School for Healthcare Science in implementing the programmes.
