Call for abstracts for AHCS Congress on 8-9 December 2014. Submit by 21 Nov.
Submissions for poster presentations are being invited for the first Academy for Healthcare Science Congress on 8-9 December 2014. Closing date for submissions 21 Nov. (note revised deadline)
The inaugural AHCS Congress “Passionate for patients, passionate about science” will be held at the Royal College of General Practitioners, 30 Euston Square, London. The programme encompasses a breadth of cutting-edge science including Prof Chris Lowe, on nanotechnology in healthcare, and keynotes from George Freeman MP, Minister of State for Life Sciences and from Ian Cumming, Chief Executive of Health Education England.
Through examples of innovative practise the inaugural Congress is designed to:
- Establish ‘One Voice’ for the contribution of the NHS’s 50,000 Healthcare Scientists to healthcare
- Address key issues in the education, training, continuous professional development and practise of Healthcare Scientists
- Promote greater awareness of, and interaction across, the Healthcare Science disciplines
As an integral part of the programme there are opportunities for poster presentations that showcase contributions from across the 50+ disciplines of Healthcare Science.
We are looking for innovative practises from life sciences, physiological sciences and physical sciences & engineering. Abstracts may be of recent work presented elsewhere and they will be included in the Congress brochure that is to be widely distributed to government departments and healthcare-related organisations. Free participation in the Congress is offered to all presenters.
