The meeting on 24 September is the third in a series of events which bring together NHS boards with leading health scientists to talk about how NHS providers and commissioners can better support health sciences in the NHS.

Previous previous sessions have included case studies of innovation in health sciences such as:

  • Computer assisted sperm analysis (Dr Mathew Tomlinson)
  • Updates on genomic networks (Angela Douglas)

The September event will be jointly hosted by the NHS Confederation and CSO for England Professor Sue Hill OBE. It will looking to explore the role of applied health sciences in improving patient experience and care. It will also seek to determine how we can better use the resources we have in the NHS – specifically Healthcare Science, in improving patient experience and patient safety.

The event provide is a great opportunity for NHS executive directors and board members to explore the value health scientists find out about innovative work and also consider how they can practically support developments in Healthcare Scientists within their own trusts.
