Healthcare Scientists Recognised in King’s Birthday Honours

Congratulations to all the Healthcare Scientists who have been included in this years King’s Birthday Honours List!

The following list is of Healthcare Scientists who have been named on the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours List, for their outstanding contribution and service to their profession, marking the achievements and service of extraordinary people across the UK.

Peter Bill MBE – Neurophysiology Head of Service and Consultant Clinical Scientist, Birmingham Women’s and Children NHS Foundation Trust. For services to Neurophysiology and Physiological Science (Aldridge, West Midlands)

 

Peter has been a tireless advocate for the Association of Neurophysiological Scientists, serving previously as Chair and playing a pivotal role in the development of training schemes and the future growth of the workforce.

 

With a career spanning over two decades at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Pete is currently serving as Head of Service. In addition to his hospital role, he has have proudly held the position of Regional Chief Scientific Officer for the Midlands for the past four years, championing innovation, excellence, and workforce development in healthcare science.

 

Professor Caroline Ogilvie OBE – Lately Consultant Clinical Scientist in Genetics, South East Genomics Laboratory Hub, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. For services to Patients with Genetic Disorders (London, Greater London)

 

She was a founding member of the Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) Centre, which was the first NHS service of its kind in the country and which gives families the chance of having a child unaffected by familial disease.  During her career she had particular interests in chromosome disorders, autism and embryo development.
