Minimum Training Standards in Aural Care (including ear wax removal) – UK Public Consultation

The National Aural Care Strategy Group (NACSG) have announced the release of the Minimum Training Standards for Aural Care, developed in collaboration with the British Society of Audiology (BSA).

This is a crucial opportunity for all involved in aural care (including ear wax removal) to contribute their insights and feedback on these standards. Your experiences and perspectives are invaluable in shaping the future of aural care.

Key details shared by the NACSG:

Purpose: 

Standardise the theoretical and practical training in aural care (including ear wax removal) and maintain competency of those providing aural care.

Who Should Contribute:

  • All UK professionals, practitioners and organisations involved in hearing healthcare and aural care (including ear wax removal). These include Ear Nose and Throat Consultants, Audio-Vestibular Medicine Consultants, GPs, Nurses, Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers, Pharmacists.
  • All aural care training course providers in the UK
  • We welcome feedback from patients who have undergone aural care.

AHCS encourage all those involved in aural care to share feedback to this important consultation which will aid the NACSG and BSA with the review of the aural care minimum training standards document.
