MOU with Scotland
In December 2016, an MOU between NHS Education for Scotland, the Academy and HEE was agreed. The agreement outlines the basis of ongoing co-operation in relation to Quality Assurance arrangements and is underpinned by a contract between NES and the Academy, effective from April 2017.

Level 2 and Level 4 Apprenticeships (Assistants and Associates)

The Academy is an approved Quality Assurer of End-Point Assessments. The Academy intends that successful apprentices be placed on the Academy’s Register and is consulting on its new Standards of Proficiency for this workforce.

Good Scientific Practice (GSP) Review

GSP sets out the Professional Standards on which good practise is undertaken by the Healthcare Science workforce is founded and was first published in December 2012. The Academy has completed its review of the standards and an updated version will be published shortly. It will be accompanied by a timeline for implementation in relation to AHCS Registrants, higher education institutions and for those wishing to go through the STP Equivalence process.
