The Academy’s President, Professor Brendan Cooper, commented

“This is a hugely important step for all healthcare scientists but especially those already involved in managing medicines as part of their usual practice.  Once again, COVID19 has led to a re-think on the “normal” situation and opens up opportunities for new ways of working that will improve delivery of patient care. We should be especially grateful to all those professions in the PBC who have contributed and persisted with this project over several years now.  Our world is changing, and healthcare scientist must be a part of that change.  This is an excellent example of our potential.  All relevant healthcare scientist and professional bodies should respond positively to this consultation.”
