NIHR Training Advocates Recruitment

The NIHR Training Advocates promote research training opportunities to non-medical clinical professions in order to support the NIHR Academy in developing research capacity.  Advocates provide support and advice to both aspiring researchers and those already on a clinical academic pathway, and provide expert advice to NIHR in relation to their specific profession and area of interest.

Advocates groups currently represent physiotherapy, nursing, podiatry, dietetics, nutrition, psychology, occupational therapy, midwifery and healthcare science.  The professional groups represented by the Advocates is being expanded to include Advocates for the following professions:

  • Speech and Language Therapy: 3 Advocates and 1 lead Advocate
  • Radiography (Diagnostic and therapeutic): 3 Advocates and 1 lead Advocate
  • Pharmacy: 3 Advocates and 1 lead Advocate

Additional Advocates are also being recruited for the following professions:

  • Healthcare Science: 4 Advocates
  • Audiology: 2 Advocates

Expressions of Interest should be submitted using the NIHR Training Advocate Expression of Interest Form and accompanied by an up to date CV.  Please submit your Expression of Interest and CV to academy@nihr.ac.uk, with the subject “NIHR Training Advocate Expression of Interest”.  Please also indicate which role you are applying for (Professional Group and Lead Advocate or Advocate Role).
