At BIVDA’s 2018 AGM David Bennett, Academy for Healthcare Science Director of Quality, provided an update on the new Accredited Credentialing Professional Register for the Life Sciences Industry (LSI).

BIVDA is the national trade association for the in vitro diagnostics industry and is just one of a number of LSI Trade Associations that have come together to collaborate on the new Register, which consists of a new national database for Life Sciences staff who interact directly with the NHS front-line staff and/or patients, including provider organisations and CCGs.

The LSI Register was recently accredited by the Professional Standards Authority in order to promote patient safety and provide assurance for NHS organisations. Linked to the new Register, ID cards will be created that are easy to use and compatible with all parts of the regulatory framework.
