The Academy for Healthcare Science is delighted to have John Stevens FIBMSas its new Chair.
John has been a Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science () since 1976, becoming President in 2008/9. He was an partner from 2002-2011, a inspector from 1995 to 2010, and a Non- Executive Director of from 2007 until it became part of .
Qualified as a Biomedical Scientist in Haematology and Transfusion, John has worked across all healthcare disciplines, including a spell as a research assistant.
During the last twenty five years he has held a number of posts including Principal, Business Manager, General Manager, and finally Head of the Project Management Office for a foundation trust.
He has presented many times locally and nationally at Seminars and Conferences and represented theinternationally.
Since November 2011, when John retired he has held office as a Non-Executive Director of the Academy for Healthcare Science, and joined the Board of Lab Tests Online.
John has continued to provide Project Management support to a variety of projects and as an interim manager.
Outside of his professional career he is the lay Chair of the University of Bournemouth’s Research Ethics Committee a position he has held since 2013 and also serves as Chair of Governors for a local school.
