The Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) has published for consultation a draft Apprenticeship Standard for Healthcare Science Assistants (Career Framework Level 2).

The Standard is – of necessity broad – in order to reflect the more than 45 Healthcare Science specialisms, and will be underpinned by an Ofqual accredited Level 2 Diploma (currently under development), which will reinforce workplace learning in the specific areas of Healthcare Science.

The Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS) is supportive of this Standard which is explicitly underpinned by our Good Scientific Practice document which sets the standards for practise across Healthcare Science.

BIS is asking for comments on the proposed standard by Friday 11 September 2015. Have your say through an electronic survey  at https://bisgovuk.citizenspace.com/apprenticeships/apprenticeships-standards/consult_view
