HSST Recruitment Process now open

The National School of Healthcare Science have announced the start of recruitment for direct-entry Higher Specialist Scientific Training posts, with four roles currently available in the West Midlands for a late 2014 start

The Higher Specialist Scientific Training Programme (HSST) is a five-year programme that is equivalent to the standards of training undertaken by medical specialist registrars. It has been developed jointly between the Modernising Scientific Careers team, Medical Royal Colleges and scientific professional bodies.

Details of the first four Direct Entry HSST posts, the HSST process and how to apply are now available on the NHS Careers website. The first posts are in Genetics, Clinical Biochemistry and Molecular Pathology of Acquired Disease at Birmingham Women’s Hospital and University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire.

Details of the 19 HSST curricula across Life Sciences, Physiological Sciences and Physical Sciences and BiomedicalEngineering are available on the Modernising Scientific Careers NHS Network
