NHS Leaders come together to discuss Healthcare Science

NHS Leaders and senior Healthcare Scientists have come together as part of an NHS Confederation project to look at the benefits of Healthcare Science to the NHS

At a meeting today (16 Apr 2014) at Westminster Hall in London Mike Farrar, former CEO of the NHS Confederation and Sue Hill, CSO, brought together Chief Executives, leaders, scientists and innovators to discuss Health Science and Innovation in the NHS.

Inspirational presentations from Angela Douglas, Scientific Director for the North West, and Liverpool Women’s Hospital around Innovations in Genomics were given.

Dr Richard Iles from Cambridge University Hospitals NHS FT talked about his personal experience of developing an innovative approach to non-invasive , non-contact Respiratory Assessment.

The CEO from Cambridge University Hospitals NHS FT described his own approach to facilitating innovation in his organisation.

Information and presentations from today’s events and the round table discussions will be available shortly and we will circulate them via web link. The group will continue to meet to explore opportunities and debate the innovation agenda for Healthcare Science.
