NHS Workforce Bulletin Issue 549 – January 2017

The latest edition of the NHS Workforce Bulletin has just been published.

A number of topics have been covered in this edition, including revised Healthcare Science job profiles. The nationally evaluated Healthcare Science profiles have been revised to reflect the new career structure groupings in the Modernising Scientific Careers (MSC) initiative. Profiles will now fall under either support staff, practitioner or scientist.

The bulletin also mentions that the Professional Standards Authority has released two new publications. This includes an evaluation of prohibition order schemes, as part of the Department of Health’s work looking into alternatives to statutory regulation. The authority has also reported on whether regulation affects professional identity and patient care.
