The inaugural congress of the Academy for Healthcare Science  – Passionate for Patients, Passionate about Science – is now well under way, and what a great success it is. More than 120 delegates are in London to hear the experts talk about their cutting edge scientific work, which is having a life changing impact on many people.

The Academy has put together a very impressive programme and have attracted top speakers and contributors, including Dr. David. Stirling, Healthcare Science Director at NHS Scotland,  Professor Ian Cumming, Chief Executive of Health Education England, Minister of State for Life Sciences, George Freeman MP and Professor Sue Hill,  Chief Scientific Officer, NHS England. They have been joined by practising scientists as well as triple amputee Andy Reid who spoke movingly of the difference scientists have made to his wellbeing and home life, as well as his physical health and ability.
