Healthcare Science Leads 4 Countries event – Edinburgh 21 Nov 2014

Senior Healthcare Scientists from across the four countries of the UK are invited to attend a joint meeting in Edinburgh on 21 Nov 2014 to look at current leadership issues within the Profession. Registration closes 13 Nov.

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) are hosting Healthcare Science Leadership and Clinical Outcomes at the Royal Society of Edinburgh, George Street EH2 2PQ from 9:45 to 3:30pm.

The speakers include the most senior leaders in Healthcare Science including CSO for England, Prof Sue Hill; Chief Health Professions Officer for Scotland, Jacqui Lunday Johnstone and AHCS CEO Janet Monkman.

The programme, reflects on the purpose and achievements of scientific leaders. It will offer an opportunity to reflect on the perspective of others of Healthcare Science, and to debate the barriers and opportunities for the senior workforce in these roles.

  • How have the changes in NHS England affected HCS leadership potential?
  • Does NHS Scotland’s focus on quality and safety offer opportunities for scientific leadership?
  • NHS Wales introduced Directors of Science and Therapy in 2010 – what lessons can we learn from that initiative?
