Call for healthcare scientists to support Ebola identification work in Sierra Leone

The Department of Health and Public Health England have put out a call to Healthcare Scientists to support the UK’s efforts to tackle the Ebola epidemic in Africa.

They are asking for scientists trained to work to at least Containment Level two (CL2) with experience in carrying out PCR assays to come forward for 6 week detachments, under secondment arrangements from their host organisations. Full training would be given in the specific assays and safe working practises before deployment.

Staff wishing to support this response register with the UK International Emergency Medical Register (UKIEMR). Applications should include a brief CV and confirmation of management approval for deployment.
